I live in Arizona and needed something better than a Evap cooler for my garage. This unit works well even when the outside temp is 115 degrees. It will bring the inside garage temp down to 85 degrees in 700 sq feet of garage.

The Koldfront portable A/C is fantastic! Why waste money cooling an entire home if you are mainly using one room? We turn the main A/C on for the whole house about 30 minutes a day, and then it is off! We have one portable for the front living area and one for the bed room. We placed a sliding wood panel to go over the screen on the window outside over the hose opening in case of rain. We never have to worry about those horror stories of this one leaking water.

The HVAC system in our building failed to work and all tenants had to get their own temporary cooling. I decided to take a chance with this because it was cheap and supposedly 14000 BTUs of cooling power. What a mistake. The noise generated by this thing is unbearable. There is no way to have a conversation within 10 feet of the unit when its on. Do not put it in a small enclosed room, I tried it and came out with my ears ringing.

The noise was just the first of many problems. More importantly how this thing was not able to really provide the cooling needed for a 300sqft den. I had it running from 8am to 9pm and was sweating for most the time in between. Nice try on the "Ultracool" name but is far from being close to even average. What's puzzling is how this product would be able to squeeze 14000BTU of cooling from a 110v wall outlet. One would think it would need a more 220 power supply. Not quite sure what to make of that oddness.
